Grosser Ternickel on the Burgwartsberg.

Info:

West of the Burgwartsberg, the outcrop of the basement forms two small elevations, one of which was temporarily used as a ski jump.

The 215-meter-high Grosser Ternickel features an outcrop of the 300-million-year-old volcanic rock known as Potschappel Prophyrite.

There was a quarry near the summit of the Grosser Ternickel, although no large quantities of rock were extracted there.

In January 2011, the "Ternickel" natural monument was incorporated into the "Burgwartsberg" landscape conservation area.
