They serve their own beer, "Zwarte Flesch", referring to the inn that stood here until the 1980s. That inn was built after the previous inn, 't Schuyt (and later 't Oud Schuyt), was no longer on the riverbank due to the canalization of the Dender (in 1863).
The street where the current Zwarte Fles is located is still called "Schuitstraat"

Please note: De Zwarte Fles is only open on Sundays and public holidays (from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and on Wednesday afternoons (from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.).
