The India Gate is a single-arched triumphal arch in the Indian capital, New Delhi. The 42-meter-high arch was designed in 1921 by Edwin Lutyens, modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The monument commemorates the soldiers from British India who lost their lives fighting for the British Empire in the First World War.
