A group of buildings south of the village of Oersberg, consisting of the church surrounded by the tree-surrounded cemetery, the more than 200-year-old thatched-roof vicarage with parish hall and sexton's house and the village inn, form the remainder of the village of Toestrup, which was mentioned in 1231 and was demolished around 1600 in favor of the Toestorf estate.

The white painted, e.g. T. plastered field stone church with a rectangular nave and retracted box chancel was built towards the end of the 12th century. One of the small Romanesque arched windows has been preserved in the east wall of the chancel. During a renovation in 1858/59, the building inspector Meyer had today's large pointed arch windows made, perhaps inspired by the late Gothic window in the north wall of the choir. He had a new main portal built into the west wall, which was newly built in 1792 at the same time as a slight west extension, to replace the Romanesque side doors that were bricked up at the time. It got its current round arch shape with a brick frame during the renovation in 1946-48.
