The Cavetta is an artificial navigable canal in the municipality of Jesolo. The canal gave its name to the reconstituted center of ancient Jesolo. Until 1930, in fact, Jesolo was called Cavazuccherina: Cava, in reference to the canal, and Zuccherina, in reference to the designer. The canal was in some cases a border that divided opposing parties: between the French and the Austrians following the Napoleonic conquest, but above all between the Italians and the Austrians during the First World War after the Battle of Caporetto.
After the Second World War, the canal underwent a modification; the place of origin was moved and the gravelled branch became the main street of the center of Jesolo (via Cesare Battisti).
