The Ägidiikirche was once a parish church of the later incorporated village Nördlingen. It was on an important arterial road in the immediate vicinity of the city wall. Presumably, her tower was tied into the city's defense system. The Ägidii church, like all Quedlinburg parish churches, has undergone various renovations and extensions. Behind the gothic outer skin hides a magical Rococo interior in white and gold. The winged altar dates from the 15th century and shows angels making music in the Predella. Around the church are still some beautiful tombs of the former cemetery preserved. Unfortunately, except for occasional Taize prayers, the church is no longer used. The church can be visited on Saturdays from 15.00 to 18.00 (March to October).

The church was first mentioned in 1179 and is, according to tradition, the oldest town church in Quedlinburg. The oldest parts date from the Romanesque and early Gothic periods. Of its twin towers, the northern one was destroyed by lightning in 1643 and was not rebuilt. The south tower is 57 m high. All roofs were re-roofed in 1991/1992. At the same time, the tower head and weather vane were re-gilded. The church belongs to the Evangelical Church of Quedlinburg and is currently used for individual events. A support group founded on April 23, 2010 has been dedicated to the further revitalization of the church and a usage concept since spring 2010. Tours are possible from March to October on Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Open Monument Day on the second Sunday in September.
