The Royal Stables (Königlicher Marstall Dresden) is a historic building in Dresden's Old Town, near the Elbe River.
It was built in the 16th century as stables for the electoral horses and carriages and was later rebuilt several times. The architecture shows elements of the Renaissance and Baroque periods and reflects the importance of the Saxon court.
Today, the stables are no longer used as such but serve cultural and museum purposes. It is part of the ensemble around the Johanneum Dresden, which houses, among other things, parts of the Dresden State Art Collections.
