The Gunung Jailolo volcano reaches a height of 1,030 m. The volcanic complex forms a peninsula west of Jailolo Bay on the southwest coast of Halmahera Island. Historically, there are no known outbreaks; Before 1883, hot mud flows flowed from the crater.
There are hot springs north of the volcano on the coast. The Kailupa Cone forms a small volcanic island off the southern coast of the peninsula.
