The Herzogstein commemorates the 31-day tour of the Württemberg Duke Friedrich I, which he carried out around the borders of his territory in 1604 and which he began at the border between Dürrmenz and Enzberg. On this arduous journey, which often led through impassable terrain due to the lack of roads or bad roads, the duke wanted to help his subjects settle landmarks, and to get to know his country better. For this purpose his companion, the well-known Württemberg Renaissance master builder Heinrich Schickhardt, had to make a boundary description during the trip. The Herzogstein is a replica donated by the Mühlacker Beautification Association.
The original stone can be viewed in the Mühlacker Museum
