The Nettetal landscape conservation area in Osnabrück preserves a typical lowland landscape along the Nette River: damp meadows, riparian woodlands, ditches, and small depressions create a biodiverse landscape. In spring, it's worth taking a look at the small bodies of water and ditches: amphibians are particularly active then, and the breeding season for many birds begins. In summer, dragonflies and other aquatic insects dance across the surface of the Nette.
