The Gersiekbachtal occupies a special position among all the Extertal gorges - and not just because of the many small and large boulders, the scenic beauty or because of the Fahrenbach Falls on the Engagement Bank. In the Gersiekbachtal “the breath of history blows” like nowhere else in the Extertal. There you can find the remains of old bridges and paths as well as the traces of the boulder transport (1933), the remains of the Hexenstein with the prehistoric cemetery or the trenches from the Second World War.
