Vilshofen lies on the right bank of the Danube and thus on the opposite bank to the Danube Panorama Trail. In spite of everything worth the detour over the river, because Vilshofen not only lures with a very cozy old town. The town of Vilshofen an der Donau lies on the edge of the southern Bavarian Forest, where Vils and Wolfach flow into the Danube.
