Brautweg Trail

The bridal path runs between the large stone graves of the Visbek groom and the Visbek bride. It is included in the “Visbeker Groom and Visbeker Bride” trail of the same name from the “Wilde Geest on Foot” series.

Take a picnic with you🙂. There are benches and tables there.

Wildeshauser Geest: Popular circular hiking trailThis hike is signposted throughout with the red “Wilde Geest on foot” logo:The hike begins at the parking lot of the Engelmannsbäke country inn. From there you go directly to the large stone grave “Heidenopfertisch” before reaching the “Visbeker Bridegroom”. The associated legend says that a young woman would rather turn to stone than marry an unloved man. One can easily imagine that the impressive large stone tombs from times long past are actually the petrified wedding processions. Through the enchanted nature reserve “Bäken der Endeler and Holzhauser Heide” the so-called “bridal path” goes from the “Visbeker groom” to the “Visbeker bride”. The “Steinen bei Thölstedt”, another large stone grave worth seeing, lines the path that leads from here to the small towns of Varnhorn and Bullmühle.
