This view of the Eifel, at a height of 340 meters above sea level, on the Bildchesberg offers a distant view in a south-northwest direction, with two core areas of the Eifel National Park in view.
The name of the Eifel view can be traced back to the following event: The teacher, the school formerly located on the Burgflecken, built the first shelter on the Bildchesberg together with his students. When asked by a student how long it would take to cook there, the teacher replied: "We'll stay here until the Luna shines!"
Since then the Bildchesberg has been referred to as "the Luna" by the locals.
