The Derby to Ashby Railway Line of the Midland Railway - now the Cloud Trail - was open for over 100 years before it closed in 1982.
The 13-mile trail runs from Station Approach in Derby City Center to Top Brand Junction, Worthington, just north of Ashby.
As a railway line, it was primarily a freight line, serving the quarries in the area - two of which can still be easily seen from the trail.
