The bunker mountain on the edge of the Köllnische Heide was an air raid shelter. The reinforced concrete building offered 500 residents protection from Allied bombs during the Second World War. After the war, parts of the bunker were blown up and later covered with earth.

This actually creates a nice vantage point, if it weren't for the garbage and the undergrowth that grows up and blocks the view.
