The Antiporto (front gate) of Camollia was built in 1270 with the aim of protecting the entrance to the north of Siena. Inside there are traces of the pictorial decoration of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary by Alessandro Casolani from 1585. Near the building, a second outer door was also built at the beginning of the 17th century.

The Antiporto di Camollia is a fortification in the city of Siena built in 1270. This gate was the access point to the historic center of Siena, a step from the modern world to the medieval heart of the city. It is located a few hundred meters north of the Porta Camollia, along the same street, and was built as an additional defense for this access to the Via Francigena.
