The towers of the Fortini della Fame (Hunger Fortresses) form a military line of defense. They were created in the mid-19th century and are located in the Magadino plain between Camorino, Sementina and Monte Carasso. The defense line was supposed to protect against attacks by the Habsburg monarchy.

These cylindrical structures are the remaining remnants of a fortification system consisting of 36 towers. Five towers still stand today above Camorino.
