Curzutt is an ancient, extensively restored and characteristic village center at the middle station of the small cable car from Monte Carasso to Mornera. In 1591, around 700 people lived up here in the old Monte Carasso and sought refuge from floods in the valley and enemy attacks. The old plundering routes can still be found on the mountain today, which are now used for recreational and information purposes. In the dense chestnut forests you can still discover traces of early farmers as well as clearings that offer views of the castles of Bellinzona and the Magadino plain.
