Since Ketschendorf used to belong to the parish of Rauen, its residents had to go to church in the neighboring village more than three kilometers away, as the street name Rauener Kirchweg still bears witness to today. There were plans for a church of its own as early as 1896, but the foundation stone of the Ketschendorfer church was not laid until June 27, 1909. The solemn consecration took place on September 16, 1910. In 1934 a parish hall was completed next to the church, which was named after the reformer Martin Luther.
