Here are the largest boulders in the region. At one can see the place where a piece of foundling was blown off. From this, the large stone bowl was made, which today still stands in front of the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.

The margrave stones embody millennia-old history. After Brandenburg they came through the Saale ice age about 300 000 years ago. The Great Markkgrafenstein was then worked on and reduced by humans. According to Schinkel's plans, it was already made by Morris, a large stone bowl in front of the Altes Museum in Berlin.
Today, the great Markgrafenstein is also used by free climbers for climbing exercises.

The last ice age has brought these giant boulders up here - a part of it stands as a well in Berlin in the Lustgarten, the remains of the processed stones as Steinerner table a few meters further north. Absolutely worth seeing!

Those are two notable lumps of granite lying around. The granite bowl, which stands in the pleasure garden in front of the Altes Museum in Berlin, was made from half of the small margrave stone.
