St. Peter's Church has been there since the 13th century, originally built in Romanesque style. In the 15th-16th century it was converted into a Gothic church. The spire burned down in 1638, and it was not until 1868 that a new spire was built. St. Peter's Church was almost completely destroyed during WWI and had to be rebuilt after the war. During the reconstruction, the church again received a tower in a uniform Romanesque style.
