Completed the 60 km section of the Trans Limburg Trail, a beautifully designed long-distance hiking route that winds through both Belgian and Dutch Limburg. A true cross-border adventure, this trail showcases the best of both regions: from quiet forest paths and rolling hills to open meadows and quaint border villages. The route is well-marked and full of variety — peaceful woodland sections, scenic ridge walks, and plenty of stretches with wide, panoramic views. The transitions between Belgium and the Netherlands are seamless but noticeable in the landscape and character of the surroundings. There were a few challenging climbs and long stretches that tested the legs, but the changing scenery kept it all enjoyable. Historical landmarks, small chapels, and tranquil nature reserves added depth to the journey. Overall, a rewarding and immersive hike through one of the most underrated trail networks in the region. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys distance hiking with a mix of cultures, nature, and quiet adventure.
