The Aumühle Bismarck Column is one of the numerous monuments erected in honor of Otto von Bismarck during the German Empire.
The monument stands on the Hammelsberg (Hamberg) in the Silk district of the city of Reinbek, near Aumühle, east of the Reinbek district of Schönningstedt and north of the L 314 north of the district of Krabbenkamp.
The square tower of approx. 5 × 5 meters stands on a terrace, is about 19 meters high and tapers towards the top.
The tower was financed with funds from the German student body. The foundation stone was laid on June 21, 1901 and completed in 1903. The tower was inaugurated on June 21, 1903, the summer solstice holiday.

The basic design for the Bismarck Towers was created by Wilhelm Kreis in 1898. 47 Bismarck towers were built according to this design, and almost 200 more towers according to other designs. A fire bowl was installed at the top of each of these towers. On certain days these bowls were to be fired all over Germany in honor of Bismarck.
The tower has been a listed building since the 1980s.

As everywhere in Friedrichsruh, history to touch, by the von Bismarck family.

The tower is located a little outside and is called the Bismarck Column (to distinguish it from the Bismarck Tower in the center of town). The tower was restored some time ago, but is in a sad, neglected state. At least the lawn has been mowed.
