The St. Theodore Church from the Byzantine period borders the Wunderbrunnen courtyard and the entrance to the cathedral from the west. Legend has it that every year to celebrate the anniversary of the miracle at the wedding at Cana, the water was transformed into wine. Usually it was fed from a reservoir 3 km outside the city, which also supplied the Nymphaeum fountain.

The St. Theodore Church is a massive three-aisled building that was built in 495 and restored in 1965/6. The church was built largely from reused ancient building materials and was decorated with magnificent mosaics. The baptistery is worth seeing.
