The silver poplar in Bad Boll is regularly maintained by the foresters of the municipality. Nevertheless, after almost 200 years (planted in 1820), the silver poplar's health is no longer optimal.

The white poplar has been on the list of "nationally important trees" (NBB) since 2007, but was to be cut down three years earlier because it posed a threat to the general public: rotten branches caused the administration great concern. However, thanks to a citizens' initiative and a second report, the old poplar was saved. After all, this landmark has grown dear to many Bad Bollers. Marriage proposals have been made here and colorful festivals celebrated - or simply enjoyed the beautiful view of the valley and the Drei Kaiserberge.
