The Campanile del Duomo, made entirely of Lecce stone, is the tallest bell tower on the Salentine Peninsula at 72 meters high, which is roughly the height of two ten-story buildings. The construction of the bell tower took 20 years and ended in 1682.

The bell tower is considered the best viewing point in Lecce. You go to the top by elevator. From there you can admire the panorama of the city and the Adriatic Sea, and on sunny and clear days you can even see the mountains in Albania.
