The high valley of the ‘Dhumzo Chhu’ lies south of the high mountain pass ‘Bonte La’ (4,890 m). The mountain stream runs east-west and flows into the ‘Paro Chhu’ below Thangthangkha. The area around the hamlet in the valley floor between the pass and the ‘Takhung La’ pass further south (4,520 m) is called ‘Soi Yakse’ (approx. 3,800 m). There are extensive grassy areas here that are used by trekking groups as overnight camps.
