Großer Feldberg Summit and Observation Tower

It's a wonderful place to hike or cycle. Single trails offer mountain bikers the opportunity to show off their off-road skills. Simply escape the nearby city of Frankfurt. Just a few kilometers and you're in a different climate zone and can let your eyes wander.

The Feldberg itself only offers great views of the Hintertaunus and unfortunately no views to the south into the Rhine-Main area. As far as I remember, however, the observation tower, if open, offers a panoramic view.
The ascent and the finish are nevertheless always a great experience, especially if you use your own muscle power.
The ascent from Oberursel-Hohemark through the forest over almost 10 km is strenuous, but blessed with a comparatively even elevation profile. I know of another attractive ascent via the Saalburg or from the other side via Glashütten.
The last kilometer in particular is significantly steeper and the condition of the path is also more demanding.
