The Pont du Gard is a Roman aqueduct in southern France. The bridge is of an impressive height and is one of the best preserved Roman water canals in France. The Pont du Gard is one of the most important surviving bridge structures of the ancient Roman world and is one of the most important sights in southern France. The Pont du Gard was part of an approximately 50 km long aqueduct that transported water from springs near Ucetia (Uzès) to the Roman city of Nemausus (Nîmes) (Wikipedia).

Not known far beyond the borders of Provence for nothing. It's worth it... and the drive to - and over the viaduct is fun... 😀
