The current winding tower (moved here from Gelsenkirchen!) replaced the previous one, which was dismantled after the mine was closed.

During the loving restoration of the Zollern mine, replacements were sought at other disused mines. A ventilation shaft was found in Herten and a suitable winding tower in Gelsenkirchen.
So this was also a reason for the representatives of the other side to visit this great site in the forbidden city.
