At the beginning of the 20th century, two shipyards were built next to the railways: one for public use and the other for boats and port works. Each one had three bodies, a central one intended for the engine room, and two sides for offices, utensils and personnel rooms. The ornamentation combines modernist and historicist elements.

In 1989 its restoration was planned but, due to its poor condition, it was chosen for demolition and subsequent reconstruction. The new building retains the same exterior appearance as the original and is an icon of Valencian modernist architecture. It has an elegant reception, numerous rooms and a large terrace overlooking the inner dock.
