There are two ugly houses, this one in Llanwrst is far from ugly with its teddy bear looks. The other is outside Bewts-y-coed and without the exterior wall plants it shows of the ugly stone. Both houses are tea rooms with the same menu. a tasty treat at the end of a walk.

Tu Hwnt Ir Bont Tearoom is a creeper covered cottage on the bank of the river Conwy just outside Llanrwst. It's a good place to grab some food or a hot drink if you start a run from the station here and go exploring in Gwydir Forest. You can create a brilliant route by running from here to Betws y Coed and getting the train back. The cafe is open seasonally so check before you go, it serves a range of hot drinks, cake and lunches all homemade and locally sourced.
