Hiking Highlight
The Germanic Well is a well that served around 300 BC to provide the users of the comb fields near the Wekeromse Zand with water. Dr Frans Bursch, curator of the National Museum of Antiquities, has called the well Germanic well. However, Frans Bursch gradually emerged as a convinced Nazi propagandist during the Second World War. This may cast doubt on the correctness of naming this well as a Germanic well.
