The quartered shield contains a five-spoke wheel and the Bamberg lion. Above the coat of arms is a fragment of an inscription "G B Z B W V H".
The full inscription probably reads: "J G B Z B W V H Z F",
that is: "Johann Gottfried, Bishop of Bamberg, Würzburg and Duke of Franconia".
