LANGE DREISCH AND OSTERBERG NATURE RESERVE

The approximately 245 hectare nature reserve (NSG), which is characterized by a diverse hilly landscape of limestone, marl, sandstone and clay, extends on a foothills of the Hildesheimer Bergland that extends far into the Börde landscape.

The area was used as a training area until the end of 2007. The NSG contains large, extensively used grassland, limestone semi-dry grasslands, limestone spring areas, small bodies of water, heat-loving edges and bushes as well as forest stands made up of oaks, hornbeams, lime trees and ash trees on limestone and silicate rock.
