Five years after the fire of the historic town hall in Straubing, the renovation is in full swing. The actual reconstruction only began at the end of 2020. In the time before that, the remains of the building had to be structurally secured, a temporary roof had to be put on, restoration work had to be carried out on the remaining ceiling paintings, cables had to be laid, and construction planning and financing had to be decided.
Work is currently underway on the foundation. According to planning, the entire measure could be completed in the second half of 2024.
