    Hiking

The Hoffnungskirche with its 2000 seats was built in the period from 1767 to 1779 as a single-nave Baroque building and consecrated on October 24, 1779. Because of its dimensions, the hall church is also known as the cathedral of southern Thuringia. Size and design indicate the then prosperity of the place by the Olitätenhandel out. The programmatic name Hoffnungskirche was chosen on the occasion of the 225th anniversary of the community; previously the church was nameless (Wikipedia).
