Wine has determined life in Großheubach since 1254. As has been the case for centuries, the vines grow predominantly on the steep, cross-row natural stone terraces that can only be found on the Lower Main. These dry stone walls serve as natural heat storage and create a microclimate that is extremely favorable for the vines. The weathered red sandstone soil is the preferred basis for the noble red grape varieties Blauer Spätburgunder, Frühburgunder, Portugieser or St. Laurent, from which fiery, velvety and full-bodied red wines thrive. But elegant, delicately fruity and spicy white wines from Silvaner vines, Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Bacchus and Riesling also pamper the palate of every wine lover over and over again.
