Villas on Am Kurpark

The Elector Max Franz wanted to connect the redoubt and the guesthouses that were built with what was then Poststrasse, later Hauptstrasse (today Koblenzer Strasse). The first villas were built in 1820/30. The villas were built and used by their owners as summer villas. Magnificent gardens emerged from the arable land in front of their houses.Name of the street: Around 1790 it was called “Lustweg”. In 1850 it became “Rosenallee” because of the flowering gardens. Renamed "Alleestraße" from 1874 and "Kaiserstraße" in 1889 in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm (II). But this only lasted for 80 years.
