    Welcome to Bothmer Castle!

Discover an unknown piece of European history with Schloss Bothmer. It was built for the imperial count Hans Caspar von Bothmer, one of the most powerful politicians of his time.

As an extremely successful diplomat, Hans Caspar von Bothmer toured the most important courts in Europe and most recently lived in London, Downing Street No 10. From here he directed the construction of the palace in Klützer Winkel.

Learn more about his exciting life in the modern exhibition of the castle museum. The tour leads from the ground floor to the upper floor through more than 20 rooms and takes about 1 ¼ hours. An audio guide offers entertaining additional information in German and English.

The best way to review your newly gained impressions is to take a walk through the park or in our castle restaurant.

A visit here is worthwhile, including great photo opportunities, there are many opportunities to rest, restaurants and free toilets. A guided tour is also recommended. Nice to see what has become of the former ruins.

It is especially great on the garden day, which takes place once a year in summer: picnic concert in the park, acrobats and jugglers, delicious food in the orangery and much more.
