The original Roman city wall from the 2nd century was 4.5 km long and approximately 6 m high. Over the centuries, many stones from the wall were used for buildings in the area such as: Churches reused. Nevertheless, the core of the wall, which had towers at regular intervals, remained intact over a length of 2 km.
