The very active working group “Fountains and Springs” in the Eberstädter Bürgerverein von 1980 e.V., or the “Eberstädter Brunnenputzer”, as they call themselves, have completed the 25th Eberstädter fountain after years of planning and construction, making it a beautiful showpiece and new attraction at the cemetery on Sunday, August 5th, 2018 at 11:30 a.m., where Ilse Fiedler found her final resting place.
Gratefully, Pastor Jonas Bauer from the Trinity Parish agreed to say a few words at the inauguration of the fountain and to give his blessing so that the drinking water always runs for the thirsty visitors to the cemetery.
The spokesman for the working group, Jürgen Beuler, once said that a well that is not running presents a sad sight to the beholder's eye.
The appeal that flowing water has for the eyes and ears, one could almost say for the soul
As early as 1997, two fountain friends Hans Joachim Bauer and Wilhelm Dörr decided to take on the local Eberstadt fountain on a voluntary basis, as it had been languishing for years without dispensing water.
Water is one of the most diverse elements on our blue planet and unfortunately now also one of the most scarce. Because water is taken for granted in our everyday lives, many people no longer recognize that it is the basis and origin of all life.
Ilse Fiedler from Eberstadt and her husband loved it until her death
Eberstädter Brunnen and enjoyed the bubbling water to the fullest.

This beautiful stone with water access is located directly at the Eberstadt cemetery
