"Two sisters"
The work, like the subsequent artistic works, focuses on the motif of Goldmarie and Pitchmarie from the fairy tale “Frau Holle” by the Brothers Grimm. The two sisters were carved from a Japanese walnut tree trunk and accentuated differently. The shape of the wood determined the cut of the sculpture. Growing out of a common tribe symbolizes the dialectic of good and evil: one is only defined by the other.
