An interesting way to the various points of reference of the Austrian Empress Elisabeth, better known as Sissi, with Merano. The noble lady of the Habsburg family was in Merano several times in the second half of the nineteenth century. The path dedicated to it links the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle to the city center over eleven stages, each of which can tell its own little story. Starting from Trauttmansdorff Castle above the botanical garden, the path leads over Pienzenau Castle, Rubein Castle, Residenz Reichenbach and Brunnenplatz, Rottenstein Castle and the Hotel Bavaria, from there down to the Passer, over the stone footbridge (also called Römerbrücke), along the Wandelhalle up to the named after her Sissi Park at the entrance to the summer promenade where a statue was erected in her honor.
