The main attraction along the winter promenade is the covered foyer with South Tyrolean landscape paintings and busts of personalities who have made special contributions to the spa town of Merano. The foyer was built in 1891 and is 90 meters long and 4 meters wide. At the end of the foyer there was a drinking hall where spa guests took drinking cures with whey or grape juice in spring or autumn.
