Location: Lützelburg, Sarrebourg-Château-Salins, Great East, France
The place is named after the medieval Lützelburg Castle; The Count of Saar Werden was held prisoner there in 1159. The town first belonged to Alsace and then to Lorraine. The castle was devastated in 1523 by the allied princes in the fight against Franz von Sickingen and then sold together with Palatinate Castle. The town was annexed by France in 1661.It's really beautiful on the canal.

A very atmospheric view of Lutzelbourg. A comfortable cycle path with rest stops.
