Six-arch Luitpold Bridge over the Nahe in Oberhausen an der Nahe made of sandstone blocks, master builder, district building officer N. Emrich, Kirchheimbolanden. In 1889, three years after assuming power, the Bavarian Prince Regent Luitpold (1821-1912) had the historic sandstone bridge built to make it easier for winemakers to get to the trading houses in Bad Kreuznach with their grapes and wines. The Nahe, over which the Luitpold Bridge leads, was temporarily a border river after the Congress of Vienna and separated the Kingdom of Bavaria (more precisely the Bavarian Palatinate - also called: Kurpfalz) from Prussia and is now the landmark of the place.

The bridge was built for Bavarian rule - and is still proud and firm.

This bridge is a real gem with its cobblestones.
