The hypar shell is currently being extensively restored. It will become an event location again, and a crèche, kindergarten and restaurant will also be built there. The reopening is scheduled for 2024, hopefully it will work.

The Hyparschale in Templin (formerly the "Breise- und Tanzgaststätte Bürgergarten") is a former restaurant with a discotheque. It was designed by civil engineer Ulrich Müther.

The inauguration took place on October 7, 1972. From 1977, the Templin Hyparschale was a restaurant for the then nearby holiday home of the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) "Salvador Allende". After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the pavilion stood empty for a long time and increasingly fell into disrepair until the first renovation work was carried out at the end of 2015. In 2004, the shell structure was listed as a historical monument.

The name "Hyparschale" is derived from the term hyperbolic paraboloid shell and in construction describes a shell in the shape of a hyperbolic paraboloid that contains both hyperbolas and parabolas as well as straight lines. Hyperbolic paraboloid shells are used almost exclusively for roofs.
