This trekking site is located near Opitter in Belgium in the Solterheide forest area.
Surrounded by coniferous forest and facing fields on one side, the site is relatively easy to access as it is close to a farm road.

The Itter trekking site is very well equipped and, in addition to a tent platform with a protective roof, also offers a picnic bench, a composting toilet and a water pump. The water pump does not officially provide drinking water, but it works well and we are able to enjoy the previously filtered water.

For hammock sleepers, there are two places, each with two posts for hanging the hammock.

Unfortunately, when we visited, the place was a bit "run down" - the table was charred, the toilet was dirty and the wood on the platform was a bit covered in moss. It is also located directly on a riding or hiking trail and is therefore not as hidden as, for example, the trekking areas on the Soonwaldsteig. But that's "complaining at a high level" for this pleasant offer, which is also free.
